The Society was founded in 1990 with the specific aim of actively researching and recording the history and development of the town. We are not specialist historians, just people who are interested in the place where we live.
We research our local history, welcome guest speakers, arrange exhibitions and organise visits to places of local and national interest.
The society meets most Tuesdays from February through November 7:00pm to 8:30pm in the Goliath Hall behind the Methodist Church on College Street. Visitors are always welcome.
